You can start exercising as early as the 36th week of pregnancy, for about 15 minutes a day. However, you can exercise for longer, the only limitation is discomfort or pain during exercise.
We do not recommend using the balloon before the 36th week – based on long-term experience. Women who start too early can get injured during the preparation. Everything has its right time and it is important to respect the natural changes that occur in the body only after the 37th week.
The achieved balloon size is not important, the measurement is indicative. It is not about performance! Aniball is not a dilation aid. The aim of the exercise is not to achieve a specific circumference, so always exercise only to your maximum feeling. Training with Aniball must not hurt! It is not desirable to increase the size of the balloon at any cost. It is completely fine if you achieve the same result over the course of several days. As the delivery date approaches, the perineum gradually relaxes due to increased hormonal activity. However, the maximum dilation of the birth canal occurs only during the delivery itself, due to the unique hormonal cocktail and contractions. Therefore, during prenatal preparation, there is no point in inflating the balloon more and straining the surrounding tissue.
Absolutely. You only need to practice with the balloon a few times. Preparation is not about performance, it is not about quantity, but about quality – understanding how to relax with the help of breathing and a suitably chosen position.
Aniball meets the safety and efficacy requirements of the European Medical Devices Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR). However, please note that if the instructions for use are not followed, especially the use of oils or unsuitable lubricants, silicone degradation may occur.
Balloon exercise does not induce labor; the mechanisms of labor induction are different.
Yes, Aniball is a Class I medical device and meets all EU requirements for medical devices, including CE marking.
There is no reason to worry, Aniball is safe, it cannot cause amniotic fluid to leak. Do you have any further questions? Write to us directly at the expert advice center.
Unfortunately, this misinformation often leads to giving up on exercise. The vagina is made of elastic tissue and cannot be "pulled out". Aniball is not a dilation aid. The purpose of the exercise is not to affect the vagina, but the pelvic floor muscles in order to prevent their injury during childbirth. In addition to genetic factors, what has a long-term effect on the pelvic floor muscles is the constitution and physical condition of the woman, the method of childbirth, the size of the fetus, and much more than the short-term use of these aids. If a woman follows the instructions in the instructions and exercises with respect for her own body, using the balloon can help her prevent disruption of the integrity of the pelvic floor and injury to the perineum. Healthy tissue stretches without any problems during childbirth due to hormones and then returns to its original state.
Be patient. It is not advisable to increase the size of the balloon at any cost. We know from clinical data that for effective prevention of birth injury to the perineum, it is sufficient to reach a balloon circumference of 25 cm (approximately 10 compressions). We recommend not to exceed this circumference to avoid injury!
Yes, definitely, bleeding is a contraindication to using a balloon!
Bleeding can have various causes. At the time of starting to use Aniball, the cervix is already slowly maturing, softening and preparing for childbirth. At this time, it is very blood-rich, fragile, and a light touch is enough to cause slight bleeding or spotting. If this occurs after exercising with Aniball (as well as after a medical examination) and if the spotting stops immediately after exercise, you can carefully continue using Aniball the next day.
During exercise, a small amount of urine may leak due to the pressure of the balloon on the full bladder. This is a minimal amount that does not prevent further exercise with Aniball. After exercise, no urine should drip.
In this case, there is no restriction on exercise. Streptococcus does not cause any problems for the woman, it can only be dangerous for the baby. For this reason, antibiotics are given preventively during childbirth, but the presence of Streptococcus during pregnancy is not a contraindication to exercise.
We definitely do not recommend exercising during the healing phase of inflammation. The walls of the vagina are fragile, the mucous membranes at the exit are red, painful and often crack. In acute conditions, perineal massage is also not recommended.
When it comes to varicose veins on the genitals, it is especially advisable not to cut anything during childbirth. If you have no contraindications for vaginal birth, i.e. if nothing prevents vaginal birth and the head can be born even through the genitals with varicose veins, then you can practice with the balloon - but of course it is always necessary to assess your specific condition. We definitely recommend a more careful approach and plenty of lubricant, holding and moving the balloon out as slowly as possible.
If your doctor has indicated a high-risk pregnancy (shortened cervix, baby is very low, etc.), we definitely recommend consulting a doctor first.
Yes, using Aniball makes natural childbirth after a cesarean section possible. If you are a healthy woman and there are no other obstacles to natural childbirth, it is possible to exercise with Aniball.
An episiotomy is a surgical procedure in the perineum (the area between the vagina and the anus) performed exclusively in the second stage of labor. Its purpose is to enlarge the vaginal opening and protect the woman from spontaneous tearing in the perineum. Unfortunately, it is associated with a number of unpleasant complications and negative consequences, usually for life. These often include poor healing and later consequences related to pain during defecation, a limited love life, the need for plastic surgery of the perineum, incontinence in later life and other, often seemingly unrelated, consequences (e.g. headaches or psychological problems).
There are cases when an episiotomy is unfortunately unavoidable. However, in most births with local massage and controlled pushing, the vaginal tissue stretches without any problems due to the influence of hormones. And if it does tear spontaneously, the wound is usually smaller, less painful than a surgical incision through all layers, and usually requires fewer stitches than an episiotomy. In addition, with a natural tear, there is a lower risk of infection and complications than after an episiotomy. Aniball can prepare a woman for childbirth without the need for an incision in the perineum.
Using the device after six weeks of childbirth helps restore proper pelvic floor function, thereby reducing urine leakage after childbirth and preventing stress incontinence later in life.
The warranty period for Aniball is 24 months as standard. If all conditions for use and storage of the product are met, the properties of silicone rubber remain unchanged for at least 5 years. However, it is important to note that frequent use may lead to increased wear and thus shorten its lifespan. Therefore, we definitely do not recommend exercising with an already used balloon (used by another person) and we offer the option of purchasing a replacement silicone balloon separately at a significantly lower price. The quality of silicone is also affected by the use of oils - therefore, it is necessary to use water-based lubricants that do not contain oils when exercising.
We are proud that Aniball is a completely European and Czech product. The silicone balloon is a Czech product, the balloon material is from a German manufacturer, it is a silicone material of the highest quality approved for use in healthcare. All other parts are manufactured in the EU. The product is assembled and inspected in the Czech Republic.
If you follow all safety instructions for use, including thorough cleaning and regular disinfection, there is virtually no risk of infection.
Contraindications: Do not use Aniball in case of high-risk pregnancy, threatened premature birth, any vaginal bleeding, the presence of condylomas or other infectious pathology in the vagina or in the vaginal opening, vaginitis, genital herpes, vaginal injury, cystitis, uterine prolapse, precancerous and cancerous pathologies of the cervix, vagina or external genitalia, in the first six weeks after childbirth or in the first 6 weeks after gynecological surgeries. Consult your midwife or doctor for any problems you encounter during exercise.
Special precautions and exercises after consulting a doctor are necessary: in case of varicose veins in the vagina and on the external genitalia, in case of a low-lying placenta (you can find out by asking the treating gynecologist), in case of reduced sensitivity of the vagina and external genitalia (neurological diseases, use of painkillers, alcohol or drug abuse), after treated vaginitis (transient vaginal fragility persists), after vaginal surgery (scars may not allow sufficient elasticity of the vagina), in case of lichen sclerosus of the external genitalia (chronic skin disease), in case of cancer in the pelvic area.
Consult your midwife or doctor with any problems you encounter during exercise.
Does it depend primarily on how the previous two births were? Aniball is supposed to teach a woman how to consciously relax with the help of proper breathing, helps her find the most suitable birthing position, introduces her to the feeling of pressure that causes the urge to push during birth, and thus supports intuitive behavior, which is very important for a birth without injury. Whether you already know how to do it is best judged by yourself.
It is not automatic that you will tear during the second birth, it does not have to be like that at all. The place that was torn during the birth heals with a different type of tissue, it is stronger, but also less flexible and elastic. For working with scars and improving the quality of traumatized tissue, using Aniball is very beneficial and recommended by experts. We have wonderful experiences from women after multiple births who used Aniball for their third birth and "finally" were not injured or cut.
Yes, it is possible, detailed instructions can be found in the second part of the manual. However, if you plan to use it long-term, which is more effective for pelvic floor rehabilitation, we recommend purchasing the Inco balloon, which is more comfortable for exercise. Some women are reluctant to return to the classic Aniball after giving birth (due to its size and shape).
You can start rehabilitating the pelvic floor with Aniball at the earliest after the end of the six-week postpartum period and the complete healing of the birth injury (if any occurred?).
Proceed carefully and with respect for your body's sensations. Using the balloon should not be uncomfortable or even painful. Don't force yourself into anything.
Some women have difficulty with pelvic floor strengthening exercises after pregnancy and childbirth with the classic Aniball - due to the shape and size of the balloon, which can be uncomfortable. In this case, it is better to use the Aniball Inco, which is better suited for regular and long-term training of the pelvic floor muscles.
Turn the wheel on the valve lightly with two fingers, stop immediately if there is resistance to rotation, do not overtighten or overtighten, the valve is sensitive and leaky.
Childbirth is a unique complex process, where our body is additionally supported by contractions due to hormonal changes. However, breathing is no different from training with Aniball.
Aniball is a device that familiarizes a woman with the feeling of pressure that the baby's head causes in the birth canal during labor, causing the urge to push. The woman should respond to this pressure with calm, deep breathing, which allows the pelvic floor to relax, which is essential for the smooth passage of the baby.
This is completely normal, in the first few days the balloon is harder to insert and expel. Please be considerate of your body and do not exceed the pain threshold. Everything has its right time, exercise should go hand in hand with the gradual release of hormones, which relax the birth canal as the due date approaches.
In the first few days of use, you should first get to know the feeling of pressure that the balloon causes and also understand how the pelvic floor works in the context of breathing. You insert the balloon, inflate it only until you feel a slight tension, you must not feel pain! And with the balloon inflated in this way, take about 10 deep breaths, all the way to your belly. You should gradually find out how the balloon behaves in the context of breathing - with inhalation it tends to move a little bit outward, with exhalation it tends to move a little bit back. You will later use this during childbirth, when in this way you "breathe" the baby into the world freely, without forcible pushing.
You don't have to increase the size of the balloon every day at any cost, always follow only your feelings.
In the first few days, you don't even need to try to expel the balloon, it's hard to do. It's better to deflate it and take it out freely. Let it run its course until the birth canal gradually opens up... suddenly the expulsion will go smoothly on its own, with just the help of your breath.
Rest assured that the achieved balloon size does not matter at all! During childbirth, a special unique cocktail of hormones supports tissue stretching and contractions. So now "for real" practice only with a smaller balloon and do not stress about the achieved size at all.
Yes, you can safely continue exercising with the balloon after the mucus plug has passed.
It is different after the drainage of amniotic fluid (or, for example, after performing the Hamilton maneuver), when there would already be a risk of introducing infection and other complications - therefore, the use of Aniball is strictly contraindicated.
Yes, Aniball in 2nd grade is a completely safe and fully functional medical device. The only difference is a cosmetic defect (e.g. a slight irregularity in shape) that occurred during production or storage. This deviation has no effect on the use of the ball or on comfort during training.
The product meets all safety requirements and includes the same accessories as the regular version — the difference is only aesthetic.
Yes, the warranty is provided in full. The cosmetic defect is taken into account in the price, but the product is otherwise a standard medical device with all the necessary features.
Yes, Aniball in 2nd quality is covered by a full statutory warranty for all functional and material defects that are not related to the aesthetic defect stated at the time of sale.
